From 6th May 2006 route 196 went over to London General from Travel London,using Alexander New Enviro 400s.
Heres a selection of shots from Travel-Londons last week of operation & the very first journey on E9 from Norwood junction to Elephant & Castle.

Out & about in the wind & rain to catch the new Solos on route R8 and a few shots of the DMSs on the 273 before the route moves to Selkent.

The new Enviro 400 built by Alexander Dennis hit the streets of London in early January 2006.
Metroline were the first company to order the Enviro 400.
First one onto service was LK55 KJX fleet no = TE666
Here are a few shots taken in the first weeks of service on route 24.

Selkent took over route 61 from First group on 2nd December,new Enviro 400s are due for this route,although tridents from across the Selkent/East london group have been on the route for the early part of the week.
The first Enviro 19131 was on the route Tuesday morning with another two joining it during the day.

A few images of the American way of life, taken whilst on a recent trip to USA

Fastrack began operating in March 2006 to provide a long term solution to the developing areas of Kent Thameside.
Alot of this express route is run over specially built roads exclusive for these buses.
Plans are in place for more routes of the coming years.
Route B is the maiden route which operates betweeen Dartford & Gravesend

A preview of Arriva southern Counties Enviro 200 Demonstrator (SN56 AWZ).
This is the bus that featured at the Bus & Coach show at the NEC earlier in the year.
This bus is due to run on routes 277 & 281.

A trip down to the coast for this event organised by Country Bus Rallies featuring vehicles from Eastbourne Corporation, Southdown, Maidstone & District & a few LT vehicles.
Operations included Eastbourne buses running along the seafront, Southdown to Polegate and M&D on a circular route via Pevensey, plus a circular route to link Eastbourne station and the miniature railway.

Today Fri 19th May Centra lost its final 3 London Routes.
From Sat the 3 routes pass to London General (200),East Thames (201) & Armchair (493).

A step back in time at Crich Tramway museum, where you can ride as much as you like on the old tramcars & amble amidst the period buildings & relics of a bygone age.

A recent look back into the First Orpington operation which was taken over by Metrobus on 8th December 2007.

A few short hops from Victoria station via Whitehall & you end up at the Elephant & Castle, A brightly coloured shopping precinct built in the 1960s with umpteen roundabouts, high-rise sink estates and maze of tunnels, the Elephant & Castle is a working-class waste land.
But its also the hub of the South central London bus network as you will see in the following images.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway runs along a part of the former Great Western Railway’s mainline from Birmingham to Cheltenham, via Stratford-upon-Avon.

Hams Travel of Flimwell, East Sussex

The annual London - Brighton commercial vehicle run featuring many old buses & lorries on a gentile trundle down to the beach from Crystal Palace park in South East London following the A23 for most of the route.

The Historic Commercial Vehicle Society Annual road run from London- Brighton, took place Sunday 6th May.

Shuttle Buses Ltd of Kilmarnock, established in 1990 and is based in Ayrshire.

From Sunday 10th December Silverlink Metro will no longer serve stations south of Stratford.The section between Stratford & North Woolwich will close on the 9th Dec.
The last train to run along the that section will depart North Woolwich at 23.37.

These pictures taken on the 24th January show the scale of the blaze at Firsts Westbourne Park garage.
A reported 12 Buses destroyed not that you could count them,only 3 are recognisable as buses at all.

The waterloo & City line has now closed for major refurbishment work & will be shut for approx 5 months.
seen today in Victoria was one of the 20 coaches that have been lifted from the site to be taken away for refurb.

Two of London Centrals new WHY buses are now in service on route 360 from Elephant & Castle to South Kensington. WHY 2 is seen at Royal Albert Hall on 14th February 2006
